Getting started
What is Sit Together?
Sit Together is a guided app for couples. It walks you both through a short, structured conversation — a "Sit Session" — with prompts, reflection questions, and a bit of relationship science, so you can check in with each other without having to figure out what to talk about or how to start.
How do I invite my partner?
From the app, choose "Pair with partner" and send them the invite. Once they accept, you'll both see each other's initials on your shared sessions and can start sitting down together right away.
Do we need to be in the same room?
Sit Together is designed for sitting down face to face, so you get the most out of it together in person. You can each use your own device during a session, but the conversation itself works best when you're actually sitting together.
Using Sit Together
What happens during a Sit Session?
Each session moves you through a few short steps: a quick check-in on how you're each feeling, a guided reflection question for each partner, a science moment with a bit of research behind it, a "talk together" step with a timer, and a closing note before you wrap up.
Should we use one device or two?
Either works. On one device, you'll pass it back and forth when it's each partner's turn. On two devices, you can each answer your own reflection questions privately before coming together to talk. Pick whichever feels more natural for you as a couple.
How long does a session take?
Most Sit Sessions take somewhere between 10 and 20 minutes, depending on how long you spend on the "talk together" step. There's a built-in timer to help keep the conversation moving if you want one.
What if we feel differently about the same question?
That's normal, and often the most useful part of a session. Sit Together shows what each of you noticed side by side, so differences in perspective become something to talk through together rather than something to resolve alone.
Can we skip a step?
Most steps are part of the flow you move through together, but the closing focus note is required — it's a short, intentional way to end every session with one thing to carry forward.
Membership & billing
How much does Sit Together cost?
Sit Together is $14.99/month or $79.99/year, and either plan covers both partners — there's no need to buy separate subscriptions.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. New subscriptions start with a free 7-day trial with unlimited sessions, so you can try it out together before you're charged.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time from the app's subscription settings. You'll keep access through the end of your current billing period.
Does my partner need their own subscription?
No. A single Sit Together subscription is shared by both partners on a pair, so only one of you needs to be subscribed.
Privacy & support
Is what we share private?
What you write and discuss in a session is only visible to you and your paired partner. See our Privacy Policy for the full details on what we collect and how it's used.
Is Sit Together a replacement for couples therapy?
No. Sit Together is a tool for structured, guided conversation — it's not therapy and doesn't create a therapist relationship. If you're working through something that needs professional support, we'd encourage you to see a licensed therapist alongside using the app.
